Based on the data collected from the questionnaires, this paper discusses various problems concerning intercultural communication competence the non-English majors at "high-leveled, applicationoriented" level faced in Shanghai Institute of Technology. Besides, it analyzes the necessity and feasibility in developing intercultural communication competence, and puts forward some constructive suggestions to enhance intercultural communication competence in adult English teaching.
医学专业的本科学生在完成基础阶段的大学英语学习之后,面临着更高级的外语学习及专业外语学习。根据对医学专业学生英语学习状况及意愿的问卷调查,发现学生对进一步学习本专业英语有很强的动机需求。对此结果用ESP(English for special purpose)教学理论,分析医学院校学生英语的专业英语学习特点,明确ESP教学的特点及努力方向应以学生为中心,着重交际能力的培养,真正为学生专业发展服务。
