The growth of economic sociology as a sub\|discipline is particularly welcome because it addresses some of the key issues of social science,particularly the nature and function of economic system.However,it also raises some fundamental questions concerning the nature of the social sciences themselves and the use of the very term“economic sociology”in particular.The authors discuss some fundamental questions regarding economic soicology in this paper.First of all,the nature,such as cross\|disciplines,independence and so on,will be discussed;Secondly,the methodology of economic sociology will be explored,it will deal with the philosophical division between sociology and economics,the multiple fronts of economic sociology,and economic imperialism.Thirdly,authors introduce some issues concerning political economic sociology,efficiency and social custom,and the interdependence of payment systems.
