Objective To compare the curative effect on treatment of combination of lotensin and amlodipine and alone with lotensin or amlodipine. Methods 371 cases of essential hypertension were divided into A lotensin and amlodipine group (150 cases), B lotensin group (105 cases ) and C amlodinpine group randomly and were treated respectively for 4 weeks. Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring was used to assess the anti-hypertensive efficacy, urine and renal function were also detected. Results The mean blood pressure in 24 h dropped in all three groups, but mean blood pressure in 24 h dropped significantly in group A. Group A was also superior to the others in reducing proteinaria and improving renal function. Conclusion Associated application with lotensin and amlodinpine not only had good efficacy in steadily controlling the blood pressure in EH cases but also improve renal function.
