Ⅰ.IntroductionTranslating is not simply the act of transferring the meaning of a text from one language into another language,and it is really a complex and fascinating task that requires much effort.
As an international language, English is now spoken by more and more people as a first, second or foreign language. The Chinese students tends to ignore the American culture when they are learning the language of English. This paper puts forward the view that teaching American culture plays a significant role in helping the Chinese students learn English and the English teachers have the responsibility to teach American culture to Chinese students.
