MgAl type layered double hydroxide(LDH) obtained by co-precipitation,has been used as precursors to intercalate an antineoplastic agent fluorouracil to prepare an intercalation compound LDH-FLU with ion exchange reaction. The transformation in structure and crystalline state property from LDH to LDH-FLU has been investigated via XRD,FT-IR,TEM,TG-DSC,and BET-N2 surface area characterizations. The results show that the structure of the intercalation compound is homologous to a monolayer parallel pillar-layer interaction model.Compared with LDH,the crystallinity of this compound is enhanced, the proportion of the inter-lamellar constitution H2O is increased, the thermal decomposition of intermediate crystalline phase complicated, the stack order of grains intensified in c axial, the absorbability of micro-pore decreased, and the pore volume of inter-laminar are reduced evidently.
