A new chiral poly(aryl ether ketone)(PAEK) containing 1,1′-bi-2-naphthyl moiety was synthesized. The chiral PAEK was characterized by IR, 1H NMR, GPC and DSC. The chiral behavior of the chiral PAEK was investigated by vibrational circular dichroism(VCD) preliminaryly, and we found it possesses the chiral feature. It would be attempted to be chiral stationary phase to realize chiral separation.
The spreading behavior of new type of chiral and achiral rigid cyclic oligomer on the water surface was investigated by measuring the surface pressure(π) area( A ) isotherms, with the aim of comparison of new type LB films of chiral and achiral rigid cyclic oligomers. Molecular resolution atomic force microscope images of the Langmuir Blodgett(LB) film was observed and the structure of their two dimensional crystals on the basal plane of mica was studied.
A novel controllable cross-linking PEEK was synthesized by introducing thioether moieties into PEEK rigid chain, which was combined with merits of thermoplastic material and thermosetting material because it can be processed as a thermoplastic material before cross-linking and be applied as a thermosetting material after being crosslinked by electron beam and heat cross-linking reaction. In this paper, we mainly discussed the rheological behavior of controllable cross-linking PEEK at a dynamic time and 653 K. The variation of modulus and complex viscosity and rheological regularity of the materials with different molecular weights were investigated by tracking and monitoring process of cross-linking reaction using retary rheometer. The relationship between structures and properties of controllable cross-linking PEEK was explored.
A novel controllable cross\|linking PEEK was synthesized by introducing thioether moieties into PEEK rigid chain, in which sulfur acts as a cross\|linking point. It is found that the cross\|linking reaction could take place at 623 K over a period of 5 h. The novel material has an excellent thermal stability and mechanical properties. It can be processed as convenient as that of pure PEEK before cross\|linking and has a high application temperature as thermosetting resin after cross\|linking.
