Gold tailings glass-ceramics of CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 system have been studied by usinggold tailings as a major raw materials, its main crystalline phase is diopside. The effect of gold tailings amounts added into the base glass on the crystallization behavior have beeninvestigated by means of DTA, SEM, EDAX and XRD. The experimental results showthat the crystallization peak temperature decreases and volumecrystallization can be enhancedwith increasing the amounts of gold tailings from 40 to 70 wt%. It is the sulfide included ingold tailings that promote .the base glass to nueleate internally. This diopside glassceramicscan be employed as building decorative materials.
The chemistry change on the surface of bioenamel based on the titanium wasinvestigatodby soak in simulated body fluid and implanting into bone of animal and using means of SEM/EDAX,thin film XRD,atomie absorption spectral analysis,et al.The results showedthat hydroxyapatite layer on the surface of this bioenamel can be formed in physiologicalenvironment.So it has biological activity,and implantment in animal bone shows high jointstrength and goood body adaptability.
