Picolinic acid is a kind of organic oxo compound which is used extensively.The catalytic behaviour of RuCl 3·3H 2O as catalyst precursor and oxygen as oxidation reagent for the oxidation of γ methylpyridine to picolinic acid in aqueous alkaline medium were studied.When the oxidation reaction carried out under the following conditions:[RuCl 3·3H 2O]=1.4×10 -5 mol,P O2 :4MPa,reaction temperature:210℃,reaction time:4h,substrate: 0.011mol ,water:6ml,the conversion of γ methylpyridine and the selectivity of γ picolinic acid respectively reached 64% and 91%.
The ethyl esters of terephthalic acid,p toluic acid and the internal standard,octane diacid are obtained from the reaction of iodoethane with tetra methyl ammonium salts of the corresponding acids.The ethyl esters can be well separated by SE 30 0.53mm capillary column.This method was used for the determination of p phthalic acid in purified product of p toluic acid.The relative standard deviation and the recovery of the method are 4.55 and 93%~103%,respectively.
Benzoic and salicylic acids in ointment sample were extracted with a 75% tehanol solution.The extracts are neutralized with tetramethylammonium hydroxide solution.Tetramethyl ammonium salts of benzoic and salicylic acids formed further react with 1 iodobutane directly in N,N dimethylformamide solution to form butyl esters of the corresponding acids.The separation of the butyl esters was carried out on column packed with 5% SE 30/102 Silanized white support.This method is simple and accurate.
