Metal nanoclusters with a core size smaller than 2 nm have attracted much attention because of their unique physical and chemical properties.Among the studied metal nanoclusters,gold and silver have been studied extensively by size-controlled synthesis, structural characterization and properties investigations.Recently,considerable research effort has been devoted to the investiga- tion of copper nanoclusters.In this review,we highlight recent progress in the study of copper nanoclusters in terms of synthesis methods,characterization techniques and their novel optical and catalytic properties.

Size-dependent catalytic activity of copper nanoclusters for oxygen electroreduction in alkaline solution

By using 2-mercapto-5-n-propylpyrimidine(MPP)as capping ligands,copper nanoclusters with different core sizes were prepared using a chemical reduction method.The as-prepared copper nanoclusters were loaded onto a glassy carbon electrode and their size effect on the electrocatalytic activity towards the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)was investigated with electrochemical techniques in alkaline electrolyte.Cyclic voltammetric(CV)studies showed that the onset potential of ORR on smaller copper nanoclusters is more positive than that on larger copper nanoclusters.Compared to the larger clusters,higher current density of ORR was obtained using the smaller copper nanoclusters.These CV results indicate that the smaller Cu nanoclusters exhibit higher catalytic performance for ORR.In rotating-disk voltammetric studies,ORR on the synthesized MPP monolayer-protected copper nanoclusters is mainly dominated by a two-electron transfer pathway to produce H_(2)O_(2).

石墨烯负载的空心银钯纳米粒子的制备及其在过氧化氢检测中的应用被引量:7

制备了在石墨烯上修饰的AgPd合金纳米粒子,并将其应用于对过氧化氢(H2O2)的电化学检测。通过两步合成得到此纳米复合物:利用柠檬酸钠作为保护剂和还原剂,合成石墨烯负载的Ag纳米粒子(Ag/GO);在100℃下,通过Ag与Pd2+之间的置换反应得到石墨烯负载的具有空心结构的AgPd合金纳米粒子(AgPd/GO)。用紫外-可见光谱(UV-vis),电子显微镜(TEM)等对此纳米复合物的结构及其吸收光谱和形貌进行了表征。电化学循环伏安法(CV)和计时安培法(i-t)的研究结果表明,修饰在石墨烯上的空心AgPd合金纳米粒子对H2O2还原具有显著的催化活性,对H2O2检测的线性范围为0.01~1.4 mmol/L(R=0.990);检出限为1.4μmol/L。

PdCu合金纳米晶体的制备和电催化活性研究被引量:1

改变表面活性剂1-十八烯(ODE)和油胺(OLA)或油酸(OA)的配比,以1,2-二羟基十六烷二醇作还原剂同时还原乙酰丙酮铜Cu(acac)2和乙酰丙酮钯Pd(acac)2一步法制备了单分散的球形和米花形的PdCu纳米粒子.透射电子显微镜和XRD等结构表征表明,两种形状的PdCu纳米粒子均为(111)面占优的合金纳米晶体,其平均粒径分别为(12.7±0.18)nm和(20.4±0.31)nm.电化学循环伏安法(CV)测定了两种PdCu合金纳米粒子对甲酸氧化的电催化活性.结果表明,在PdCu球形纳米粒子上得到的甲酸氧化峰电流密度约为米花状纳米粒子上的5.6倍.同时,前者显示出了更好的抗CO毒化能力.计时电流测量也表明,球状PdCu纳米粒子比米花状纳米粒子有更好的电催化稳定性能.
