Axial compression stress, produced by the pre-tightening force of a bolt, is a necessary condition for surrounding rock to form a whole structure. For this study, we built a mechanical model for an end-anchorage bolt, which represented the effect of a bolt on the surrounding rock in roadways in order to obtain its elastic solution. Simultaneously, we analyzed factors affecting the axial compression of the bolt on the surrounding rock and obtained the axial stress contours of the anchorage area through this elastic solution. The results indicate that 1) the axial compression stress in the anchorage area is proportional to the pre-tightening force and confirms the rule that stress declines sharply with the increase in axial distance from the bolt, with an effective stress radius of 1 m; 2) the maximum axial compression stress declines first and then rises with the increase in depth from the surface of the anchorage surrounding rock and 3) the size of the axial compression area is mainly determined by the length of the bolt.
In order to study the water-inrush mechanism of concealed collapse pillars from the mechanical view, a mechanical model for water-inrush of collapse pillars has been established based on thick plate theory of elastic mechanics in this paper.By solving this model the deformation of water-resistant rock strata under the action of water pressure and the expression of critical water pressure for collapse pillar waterinrush have been obtained The research results indicate that:the boundary conditions and strength of water-resistant strata play important roles in influencing water-inrush of collapse pillars. The critical water-inrush pressure is determined by both relative thickness and absolute thickness of water-resistant strata.
Based on the characteristic of deep rock layers and the theory of key strata,we analysed elastic mechanical characteristics of key strata by using elastic plate theory. The results show that the deformation and distribution of internal forces of key strata vary with different mine boundary conditions. The boundary values of key strata with three point boundaries and one fixed boundary is greater than that with four fixed boundaries.Considering the rheology of key strata under low stress conditions,we selected a generalized Kelvin model to analyse the rheology characteristics of the key strata and discovered their instantaneous elastic phases. The rate of deformation decreased over time to the point where the key strata reached stability. But over this time, the effect on deformation became very clear. For high stress conditions,we chose a Burgers model and found deformation of key strata in the form of attenuation and steady-state creep and although the rate of deformation remained constant, secondary creep was obvious, causing instability in the system. As well,we analysed the effect of creep buckling and derived a relation between buckling force and time.
About 75% water-inrush accidents in China are caused by geological structure such as faults, therefore, it is necessary to investigate the water-inrush mechanism of faults to provide references for the mining activity above confined water. In this paper, based on the fluid-solid coupling theory, we built the stress-seepage coupling model for rock, then we combined with an example of water-inrush caused by fault, studied the water-inrush mechanism by using the numerical software COMSOL Mutiphysics, analyzed the change rule of shear stress, vertical stress, plastic area and water pressure for stope with a fault, and estimated the water-inrush risk at the different distances between working faces and the fault. The numerical simula- tion results indicate that: (1) the water-inrush risk will grow as the decrease of the distance between working face and the fault; (2) the failure mode of the rock in floor with fault is shear failure; (3) the rock between water-containing fault and working face failure is the reason for water-inrush.
