The subgeneric research history and present research status of Lytta are briefly introduced on a worldwide basis. A key to the subgenera and species of male Chinese Lytta is given. A newly recorded species for China, Lytta （Asiolytta） selanderi Saha is described. The subgeneric assignments for two species are proposed： Lytta （Lytta） battonii （Kaszab） and Lytta （Lytta） sifanica （Semenov）. 23 known species of Chinese Lytta are listed.
