紧致差分格式的分辨率与精度的实例比较与讨论

通过比较先前建立的4阶最优紧致差分格式,以及传统的6阶和8阶紧致差分格式,来研究精度和分辨率之间的关系,主要比较了空间离散格式的有效波数范围、实际数值计算精度、以及对小尺度波动的模拟能力.数值试验结果表明:(1)这3种格式的计算精度都可以达到理论精度,并且此时精度越高,误差越小;(2)对于小尺度波动,最优4阶紧致格式比6阶和8阶紧致格式具有更高的分辨率;(3)对于行波问题,最优4阶紧致格式能够更加准确地模拟波动的传播行为.理论分析和数值算例的比较结果均表明,数值格式的精度和分辨率并不能互相替代,而是要根据计算问题的需要选择具有合适的精度和分辨率的数值格式.

OCS4格式的数值边界格式及其渐近稳定性

根据多项式拟合数值边界格式(SFEBS)和Taylor展开数值边界格式(TEBS)相结合的思想,构造了与优化3对角4阶跳点紧致差分格式(OCS4)及其插值格式(OCI4)相匹配的具有4阶精度的数值边界格式(SF-TEBS4)。通过计算格式特征值的理论分析表明,OCS4、OCI4格式在与数值边界格式SF-TEBS4格式相结合时,数值格式在整体上能够满足渐进稳定性的要求。一阶导数数值试验表明,OCS4、OCI4与4阶数值边界格式SF-TEBS4在数值模拟中相结合使用时,能够保证格式整体精度达到4阶,且计算误差较小;行波解数值模拟表明,这些格式的组合能够有效抑制数值计算的误差,具有能够长时间保持群速度和较强渐进稳定性的特性。理论分析和数值算例均表明,SF-TEBS4与OCS4和OCI4相结合,能够很好地求解小尺度波动问题。

Influences of non-isothermal atmospheric backgrounds on variations of gravity wave parameters被引量:7

Because of the importance of gravity waves (GWs) in coupling different atmospheric regions, further studies are necessary to investigate the characteristics of GW propagation in a non-isothermal atmosphere. Using a nonlinear numerical model, we simulate the propagation of small amplitude GWs with various wavelengths in different non-isothermal atmospheres. Our re- sults show that the GW vertical wavelength undergoes sharp changes above the stratopause and mesopause region. Specifically for a GW with an initial vertical wavelength of 5 km, the seasonal background temperature structure difference at 50° latitude can cause the vertical wavelength to vary by -2 krn in the mesosphere and by as large as -4.5 km in the lower thermosphere. In addition, the GW paths exhibit great divergence in the height range of -65-110 kin. Our results also show that the variations of GW path, vertical wavelength and horizontal phase velocity are not synchronized in a non-isothermal atmosphere as in an isothermal atmosphere. Despite the fact that all GWs change their characteristics as they propagate upward in a non-isothermal atmosphere, the variations relative to the initial parameters at a reference height are similar for different initial vertical wavelengths. Our results indicate that the changing characteristics of a gravity wave in a non-isothermal atmosphere need to be considered when investigating the relationship of GWs at two different heights.

Diurnal variations of turbulence parameters over the tropical oceanic upper troposphere during SCSMEX被引量:3

Using the method of Thorpe analysis, the TKE (turbulence kinematic energy) dissipation rate (e) and turbulence diffusivity (K) were derived from the RS (radiosounding) measurements in the tropical oceanic upper troposphere. The measurements were performed four times per day during two intense observation periods (May 5-25, and June 5-25) on the Kexue #1 scientific observation ship of SCSMEX (South China Sea Monsoon EXperiment) in 1998. There are three new features obtained from our analysis. First, the responses of e and K to the onset of monsoon are negligible over the ocean at least for the data used here Second, the temporal variations of e and K are in a similar manner and exhibit strong diurnal variations. The diurnal variations achieve their maxima in the morning (08 LT) and early afternoon (14 LT), and achieve their minima in the evening (20 LT) and early morning hours (02 LT). The diurnal variations of turbulence parameters (e and K) and their responses to the onset of monsoon are entirely different from those derived over land at similar latitudes. Finally, although the correlations between the variations of e and MCSs (mesoscale convective systems), which were derived from TRMM (tropical rainfall measuring mis- sion) satellite, are not very well in only few days, the diurnal variations of e averaged over May and June are strongly correlat- ed with the diurnal variations of MCSs with correlation factors of 0.79 and 0.94, respectively. This indicates that the turbulence and its diurnal variations over the tropic oceanic upper stratosphere region are highly related to the MCSs.

三对角四阶紧致差分格式的优化和初步应用被引量:4

提高数值解的精度和分辨率,有助于更精确地求解日趋复杂的工程问题。本文依据差分格式的伪波数应该在尽可能大的波数范围内接近物理波数的思想,构造了满足四阶精度的具有高分辨率的三对角紧致差分格式。一方面,它可以与近些年发展的求解(循环)三对角方程组的高效算法相结合,以更高的分辨率、更小的计算量来计算一阶导数;另一方面,与传统格式相比,该格式的最大精确求解波数可以达到2.5761,大于传统格式的1.13097。因此,优化格式更适合模拟小尺度波动。数值计算结果表明:(1)虽然优化格式仍然是四阶精度,但要比传统四阶紧致差分格式的计算误差小,尤其对于小尺度波动,优化格式的计算误差会更小;(2)对于行波问题,优化格式能够更加准确地模拟波动的传播行为,其优势也更加明显。理论分析和数值算例的比较结果均表明,优化的紧致差分格式更适合求解小尺度波动问题。

First experiment of spectrometric observation of hydroxyl emission and rotational temperature in the mesopause in China被引量:7

A SpectroMeter of Atmospheric RadiaTion (SMART) was developed and installed at the Xinglong station of the National Astronomical Observatories in Hebei province, China, which was supported by the Meridian Project [1]. The experimental tests of spectrometric observation of the hydroxyl emission and rotational temperature in China were conducted for the first time on the night of February 23, 2011 and the night of April 27, 2011, respectively. OH 6-2 band and OH 8-3 band spectra were measured and the rotational temperature was retrieved. Hourly average temperatures (186.82±6.40) K of OH 8-3 band and (178.07±6.73) K of OH 6-2 band were derived from the spectra observed on the night of February 23,2011. Intensities and ro- tational temperature against local time were determined by the spectra measured in the whole night of April 27, 2011. The rotational temperature was consistent with the spatial average temperature of NRLMSISE00 empirical model at height 83-91 km and the average temperature of TIMED/SABER from April to May of seven years at height 83-91 kin, with some discrepancies. The results showed that the new instrument and the retrieval method of the rotational temperature can give reasonable results of the airglow emission of OH and the temperature of mesopause.

三对角四阶跳点紧致格式优化和初步应用被引量:1

根据修正波数应在充分大的波数范围内接近准确波数的思想,构造了优化的3对角4阶跳点紧致差分格式及插值格式。优化跳点紧致格式仍然具有4阶精度,但提高了分辨率,能够在更大的波数范围内保持群速度特性。通过实验数据表明,优化跳点紧致差分格式的分辨率可达到0.86π,优化紧致插值格式可达0.63π,可较好保持群速度的最大波数为0.75π,均大于标准4阶和6阶跳点紧致格式。分别用优化格式,标准4阶和6阶跳点紧致格式计算小尺度波动的性能,结果表明优化格式在模拟小尺度波动,在减小计算误差并保持群速度方面具有明显优势。
