Stimulated Brillouin scattering threshold dependent on temporal characteristics in a kilowatt-peak-power,single-frequency nanosecond pulsed fiber amplifier被引量:1

The stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) threshold affected by repetition rate and pulse duration in a singlefrequency nanosecond pulsed fiber amplifier is studied. The experimental results demonstrate that the SBS threshold can be improved either by reducing the repetition rate or by narrowing the pulse duration; however,the average power may be limited in some cases. Otherwise, two evaluation methods for the SBS threshold in the fiber amplifier are compared and discussed, aiming to obtain a more accurate description for the SBS threshold in our single-frequency amplifier system.

Low threshold Raman effect in high power narrowband fiber amplifier被引量:1

A low-threshold Raman effect in a kilowatt ytterbium-doped narrowband fiber amplifier system is reported. The Raman Stokes light at 1120 nm is achieved with the total output power of only ~400 W, indicating that the Raman threshold of this kilowatt codirectional pumped continuous wave fiber amplifier is much lower than the predicted value estimated by the classic formula. To figure out the mechanism of this phenomenon, simulations based on the general stimulated Raman scattering(SRS) model are analyzed indicating that the key factor is the coupling between four-wave mixing(FWM) and SRS. The simulation results are in good agreement with our experiments.

基于啁啾光纤光栅的被动锁模掺Yb^(3+)激光器被引量:4

基于啁啾光纤布拉格光栅(C-FBG)与半导体可饱和吸收镜(SESAM)相结合实现了光纤掺Yb3+线型锁模激光器。采用976nm半导体激光器,以高掺杂浓度的掺Yb3+光纤作为增益介质,以SESAM作一端的反射镜,以C-FBG引入大的负色散,并作为另一端反射镜,最终获得了稳定皮秒脉冲序列的输出。其中心波长为1045nm,平均功率为12mW,基频重复频率为17.07MHz,脉宽约为3ps。详细讨论了高阶锁模光脉冲的演化方式。该锁模光纤激光器可以完全自启动,可以长时间稳定工作,有望成为高功率超短脉冲激光器的种子源。

255 W picosecond MOPA laser based on self-made Yb-doped very-large-mode-area photonic crystal fiber

We report on the amplification of high-average-power and high-efficiency picosecond pulses in a self-made verylarge-mode-area Yb-doped photonic crystal fiber(PCF). The PCF with a core diameter of 105 μm and a core numerical aperture of 0.05 is prepared by the sol-gel method combined with the powder sintering technique. The fiber amplification system produces the highest average power of 255 W at a 10 MHz repetition rate with a 21 ps pulse duration corresponding to a peak power of 1.2 MW. This result exemplifies the high-average-power and high-peak-power potential of this specifically designed fiber.

All fiber tunable- or dual-wavelength Yb-doped fiber laser covering from dissipative soliton to dissipative soliton resonance被引量:2

In this Letter, a simple and passively mode-locking Yb-doped all fiber laser using a nonlinear polarization rotation technique operating under dissipative soliton(DS) or dissipative soliton resonance(DSR) conditions is proposed, furthermore, using a combination of a bandpass filter and a Loyt filter, tunable single-wavelength or dual-wavelength operation under two different conditions is realized, respectively. The tunable single?wavelength DS laser has a 5 nm tuning range from 1029 to 1034 nm with a pulse width of 110 ps. The tunable single-wavelength DSR operation laser has a range of 4 nm. In-depth research on the mechanism of the con?version between DS and DSR is carried out. Particularly, under dual-wavelength DSR operation, the obtained step-like pulses consist of two rectangular pulses with different energies. This work could help give a deeper insight into normal dispersion pulses.

10.6GHz线宽保持随机光纤激光种子源被引量:3

在基于主振荡放大结构的光纤放大器中,窄线宽、时域稳定的种子源对抑制非线性效应和获得数千瓦窄线宽的激光输出至关重要。随机光纤激光器基于瑞利散射和拉曼增益,在时域稳定性上独具优势,近年来得到了广泛研究。将基于自研光纤光栅搭建的1018nm光纤激光作为抽运源,采用半开放腔随机激光形式输出1067.6nm激光,并基于窄带光栅滤波和三级放大结构,实现了42.8 W、10.6GHz线宽的激光输出,线宽在放大过程中保持不变,此光源特别适合作为数千瓦级窄线宽光纤放大器的种子源。
