Synthesis and Optical Properties of Cubic Gold Nanoframes被引量:3

This paper describes a facile method of preparing cubic Au nanoframes with open structures via the galvanic replacement reaction between Ag nanocubes and AuCl_(2)^(-).A mechanistic study of the reaction revealed that the formation of Au nanoframes relies on the diffusion of both Au and Ag atoms.The effect of the edge length and ridge thickness of the nanoframes on the localized surface plasmon resonance peak was explored by a combination of discrete dipole approximation calculations and single nanoparticle spectroscopy.With their hollow and open structures,the Au nanoframes represent a novel class of substrates for applications including surface plasmonics and surface-enhanced Raman scattering.

全光开关是进行快速光信息处理、全光集成的关键器件。自从1987年光子晶体提出之后,光子晶体全光开关吸引了很多研究者的兴趣。光子晶体具有光子带隙和光子局域的特征。Kerr非线性光子晶体在外界强抽运光的作用下,光子带边或者缺陷态会发生移动。此时,如果探测光的波长设置在带边或者缺陷态的位置,其透射率在抽运前后会发生显著的变化,从而实现光开关。如果抽运光为超快的飞秒脉冲激光,则带边或缺陷态的移动也随之快速移动,从而实现超快的光开关。

二维硅基平板光子晶体器件被引量:9

硅材料在红外通讯波段具有低损耗和高折射率的特性,使得其成为集成光学领域中应用最广的材料之一。主要介绍了本课题组在二维硅基平板光子晶体中实现微纳尺度上光调控的研究进展,讨论了利用光子晶体的缺陷态实现各种集成光学器件,包括光子晶体波导、微腔和利用光子晶体波导和微腔形成的滤波器。还介绍了光子晶体中特殊的光折射现象,包括红外波段的负折射和自准直现象。另外,简述了在高Q光子晶体微腔的制备和测量方面的研究进展。研究表明,硅基平板光子晶体能够在微纳尺度上灵活有效地控制光的传播,在集成光路中具有广泛的应用前景。

Photonic crystal cavities and integrated optical devices被引量:2

This paper gives a brief introduction to our recent works on photonic crystal(Ph C) cavities and related integrated optical structures and devices. Theoretical background and numerical methods for simulation of Ph C cavities are first presented. Based on the theoretical basis, two relevant quantities, the cavity mode volume and the quality factor are discussed. Then the methods of fabrication and characterization of silicon Ph C slab cavities are introduced. Several types of Ph C cavities are presented, such as the usual L3 missing-hole cavity, the new concept waveguide-like parallel-hetero cavity, and the low-index nanobeam cavity. The advantages and disadvantages of each type of cavity are discussed. This will help the readers to decide which type of Ph C cavities to use in particular applications. Furthermore, several integrated optical devices based on Ph C cavities, such as optical filters, channel-drop filters, optical switches, and optical logic gates are described in both the working principle and operation characteristics. These devices designed and realized in our group demonstrate the wide range of applications of Ph C cavities and offer possible solutions to some integrated optical problems.

硅基二维平板光子晶体高Q微腔的制作和光谱测量被引量:3

利用微加工技术,在SOI上制作出了高Q值的光子晶体微腔,Q值可以达7×10~4以上,为后续的光与物质相互作用和量子信息方面的实验奠定了基础.实验结果与理论模拟符合得较好.通过三维时域有限差分法模拟,得到光子晶体微腔的Q值为1.2×10~5左右.

Experimental studies of extraordinary light transmission through periodic arrays of subwavelength square and rectangular holes in metal films被引量:1

We fabricate a series of periodic arrays of subwavelength square and rectangular air holes on gold films,and measure the transmission spectra of these metallic nanostructures.By changing some geometrical and physical parameters,such as array period,air hole size and shape,and the incident light polarization,we verify that both global surface plasmon resonance and localized waveguide mode resonance are influential on enhancing the transmission of light through nanostructured metal films.These two resonances induce different behaviours of transmission peak shift.The transmission through the rectangular air-hole structures exhibits an obvious polarization effect dependent on the morphology.Numerical simulations are also made by a plane-wave transfer-matrix method and in good consistency with the experimental results.
