A Mean-Field Treatment in Studying Nuclear Matter Through a Thermodynamic Consistent Resummation Scheme

We used the Cornwall, Jackiw and Tomboulis (CJT) resummation scheme to study nuclear matter. In the CJT formalism the meson propagators are treated as the bare propagators and the the higher order loop corrections of the thermodynamic potential are evaluated at the Hartree approximation, while the vacuum fluctuations are ignored. Under these treatments in the CJT formalism we derived exact mean-field theory (MFT) results for the nuclear matter. The results are thermodynamically consistent, and our study indicates that the MFT result is the lowest order resummation result in the CJT resummation scheme. The relation between CJT formalism and MFT is clearly presented through the calculations.

Dispersion relation of excitation mode in strongly interacting fermions matter被引量:2

This paper analyses the dispersion relation of the excitation mode in non-relativistic interacting fermion matter. The polarization tensor is calculated with the random phase approximation in terms of finite temperature field theory. With the polarization tensor, the influences of temperature, particle number density and interaction strength on the dispersion relation are discussed in detail. It finds that the collective effects are qualitatively more important in the unitary fermions than those in the finite contact interaction matter.

提出用粒子数密度极化率的"几何平均"刻画强关联费米子系统的非高斯关联效应.先用准高斯近似方法求出巨热力学势的参数方程表达形式,再讨论一般热力学性质.对称性幺正费米子系统的基态能量与理想无相互作用的基态能量的比值给出了普适常数ξ的定义,利用准高斯近似方法得到的ξ=4/9,与部分实验或蒙特卡罗结果精确一致.对于极化的幺正费米子基态,物理化学势能通过一个非线性变换与无相互作用费米气体的费米动能相联系.三维幺正费米子相分离的状态方程给出了临界极化比率δC与普适常数ξ的解析关系:δC=[1?(1?ξ)6/5]/[1+(1?ξ)6/5].所得临界极化率δC≈0.34与实验精确一致,而且基态能量标度函数g(x)与蒙特卡罗数值模拟行为符合.

The universal sound velocity formula for the strongly interacting unitary Fermi gas被引量:2

Due to the scale invariance,the thermodynamic laws of strongly interacting limit unitary Fermi gas can be similar to those of non-interacting ideal gas.For example,the virial theorem between pressure and energy density of the ideal gas P=2E/3V is still satisfied by the unitary Fermi gas.This paper analyses the sound velocity of unitary Fermi gases with the quasi-linear approximation.For comparison,the sound velocities for the ideal Boltzmann,Bose and Fermi gas are also given.Quite interestingly,the sound velocity formula for the ideal non-interacting gas is found to be satisfied by the unitary Fermi gas in different temperature regions.

Thermodynamic stability of interacting fermions system with matrix eigenvalue method

A matrix eigenvalue method is applied to analyse the thermodynamic stability of two-component interacting fermions.The non-relativistic and ultra-relativistic d = 1,2,3 dimensions have been discussed in detail,respectively.The corresponding stability region has been given according to the two-body interaction strength and the particle number density ratio.

Expanding the thermodynamical potential and analysis of the possible phase diagram of deconfinement in the FL model

Deconfinement phase transition is studied in the FL model at finite temperature and chemical potential. At MFT approximation, phase transition can only be first order in the whole μ-T phase plane. Using a Landau expansion, we further study the phase transition order and the possible phase diagram of deconfinement. We discuss the possibilities of second order phase transitions in the FL model. From our analysis, if the cubic term in the Landau expansion could be cancelled by the higher order fluctuations, second order phase transition may occur. By an ansatz of the Landau parameters, we obtain a possible phase diagram with both the first and second order phase transitions, including the tri-critical point which is similar to that of the chiral phase transition.

Dispersion relation of excitation mode in spin-polarized Fermi gas

We study the dispersion relation of the excitation mode in a spin-polarized Fermi gas.In the frame of the imaginarytime finite temperature field theory,the polarization tensor is calculated by taking the random phase approximation.The population imbalance effects on the dispersion relation of the excitation mode and the spin-spin correlation susceptibility are investigated.The numerical results in terms of the imbalance ratio indicate the polarization effects on the dispersion relation and susceptibility χ.
