yb3+/Dy3+ co-doped A1203 nanopowders have been prepared by the non-aqueous sol-gel method and their up- conversion photoluminescence spectra are measured under excitation by a 980-nm semiconductor laser. The results show that there are comparatively abundant spectra of up-conversion emissions centered at 378, 408, 527 and 543, and 663 nm, corresponding to 4C9/2→ 6H13/2, 4C9/2→ 6Hll/2, 4115/2 → 6H13/2, and 4F9/2 →6Hll/2 transitions of Dy3+, respectively. Two-photon and three-photon processes are involved in ultraviolet, violet, green, and red up-conversion emissions. The energy transition between Yb3+ and Dy3+ is discussed.
A series of Sr_(2)MgSi_(2)O_(7):Tb^(3+)nanophosphors is prepared using a high-temperature solid-state reaction. The x-ray diffraction patterns show that the crystal structure of the sample is not significantly affected by Tb^(3+)ions.However,the images of the scanning electron microscope illustrate that the average size of nanoparticles becomes larger with the increase of Tb^(3+)concentration.Unlike earlier investigations on down-conversion emission of Tb^(3+)ion excited by deep ultraviolet light,in this work, the photoluminescence characteristics of Sr_(2)MgSi_(2)O_(7)nanophosphors doped with different Tb^(3+)concentrations are analyzed under 374-nm excitations. The intense green emission at 545 nm is observed at an optimal doping concentration of 1.6 mol%.The main reason for the concentration quenching is due to the electric dipole-electric dipole interaction among Tb^(3+)ions.

The inorganic-organic hybrid junction was synthesized on ITO glass substrate, which was consisted of an n-type ZnO nanorods (NRs) grown by low-temperature aqueous chemical growth method and a p-type polyfluorene (PF) organic film fabricated by spin-coating. The experimental results indicate that densely and uniformly distributed ZnO nanorods are successfully grown on the PF layer. The thickness of the PF layer plays a dominant role for the current-voltage (I-V) characteristic of the ZnO NRs/PF inorganic-organic hybrid junction device, and a p-n junction with obviously rectifying behavior is achieved with optimal PF layer thickness. The photoluminescence (PL) spectrum covering the broad visible range was obtained from the n-ZnO nanorods/p-polyfluorene (PF) structure, which was originated from the combination of the PF-related blue emission and the ZnO-related deep level emission.
A new synchronization technique of inner and outer couplings is proposed in this work to investigate the synchro- nization of network group. Some Haken-Lorenz lasers with chaos behaviors are taken as the nodes to construct a few nearest neighbor complex networks and those sub-networks are also connected to form a network group. The effective node controllers are designed based on Lyapunov function and the complete synchronization among the sub-networks is realized perfectly under inner and outer couplings. The work is of potential applications in the cooperation output of lasers and the communication network.
