Xiong Shi-li argued with Fung Yu-lan about the proposition "intuitive knowledge is present or not" at the beginning of 20th century.Although both of them had clear standpoint on it,none of them developed it in detail. However,Mou Tsung-san,Xiong’s follower, kept the question "firmly in mind" and achieved the proof of the proposition.Mou thought that we had to justify three statements before the proposition "intuitive knowledge is present" was concluded.Mou’s demonstration includes the following aspects:moral laws are constituted by intuitive knowledge;moral laws are realized by intuitive knowledge;intuitive knowledge is present in the worldly world.Mou’s achievement not only embodies the proposition put forward by Xiong thirty years ago,but also enriches the content of modern Confucianism.
Since Parmenides created metaphysics,it has gone through several thousand years, and has made important contributions to human philosophy and civilization. However, since the beginning of 20th century, traditional metaphysics has encountered an unprecedented criticism, which is from both inside and outside. Therefore, somebody talked the emergence of the so-called "post-metaphysical era",that is,announced the end of traditional metaphysics. In fact,it is not right because in addition to the traditional "factual ontology" and "theoretical metaphysics",there are also the existence of a "value ontology" and "practical metaphysics". In this regard,Chinese philosophy,Confucianism in particular, has rich helpful resources, and,as a representative figure in Modern Confucianism,Mou Tsung-san has built a complete theoretical system—"value ontology" and "practical metaphysics"—"moral metaphysics"."moral metaphysics" is not only a transcendence of traditional Confucianism, but also a resolution of the difficulty which traditional metaphysics encountered, that is,"moral metaphysics" is a new type of metaphysics in the "post-metaphysical era".
