Dissipative soliton operation in diode pumped ultrafast Yb:GdYSiO_5 oscillator被引量:1

We demonstrate the dissipative soliton mode locking in a diode pumped Yb:GdYSiO^(Yb:GYSO) laser operating in the positive dispersion regime. We obtain stable passively mode-locked pulses with strong positive chirp and with very steep spectral edges. The central wavelength is 1050 nm with bandwidth of about 4 nm, autocorrelation trace shown the typical pulse duration is about 3.5 ps. We obtain the maximum average power of 558 mW for a 3.3-W absorbed pump power, with 22% slope efficiency, and a 78-MHz pulse repetition frequency.

Efficient femtosecond optical parametric oscillator pumped by all solid-state mode-locking Yb:YCOB laser

We experimentally demonstrate a femtosecond optical parametric oscillator (OPO) synchronously pmnped by a home-made solid-state mode-locking Yb:YCOB laser, which is capable of laser pulse as short as 102 fs and average power of 620 mW at the central wavelength of 1052 nm. By using a periodically poled lithium niobate with tuning of the grating periods from 28.5 to 31.5μm as the nonlinear gain crystal, tunable femtosecond pulses from 1444 to 1683 nm are realized by conveniently adjusting the OPO cavity length with 76.8 MHz repetition rate. The maximum average output power is 152 mW at 1568 nm, corresponding to an idler power of 75 mW at 3197 nm as well as 36.6% total extraction efficiency.

Generation of 33 fs pulses directly from a Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:CaYAlO4 laser被引量:8

We experimentally demonstrated a diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked femtosecond laser with a Yb:CaYAlO4 crystal as the gain medium. Pulse duration as short as 33 fs was obtained directly from the oscillator at a repetition rate of 115 MHz. The central wavelength was at 1059 nm with a spectral bandwidth of 49 nm. These are, to the bestof our knowledge, the shortest pulses generated from a Yb:CaYAlO4 oscillator.

二极管抽运的全固态锁模Yb激光器能够在1μm附近输出高平均功率窄脉冲宽度的飞秒激光,在超快非线性频率变换、飞秒光学频率梳、超快光谱学等领域具有重要应用。利用被动锁模技术和克尔透镜锁模技术,人们在一系列新型Yb掺杂激光介质中实现了飞秒锁模激光运转。介绍了近年来在二极管抽运全固态飞秒Yb激光器的研究进展,并展望了进一步提高输出功率和缩短脉冲宽度的技术途径及发展前景。

Tunable second harmonic generation from a Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:YCa4O(BO3)3 femtosecond laser被引量:1

We experimentally demonstrated a diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked femtosecond(fs) laser with a self-frequency doubling Yb:YCa_4O(BO_3)_3 crystal.Sub-40 fs laser pulses were directly generated from the oscillator without extracavity compression.The central wavelength was tunable from 1039 nm to 1049 nm with a typical bandwidth of 35 nm and an average output power of 53 mW.For the first time,a self-frequency doubled second harmonic green laser with tunable range from 519 nm to 525 nm was observed.

We experimentally demonstrated a diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked femtosecond laser based on an Yb:YAG ceramic. Stable laser pulses with 97-fs duration, 2.8-nJ pulse energy, and 320-mW average power were obtained. The femtosecond oscillator operated at a central wavelength of 1049 nm and a repetition rate of 115 MHz. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of a Kerr-lens mode-locked operation in a diode-pumped Yb:YAG ceramic laser with sub-100 fs pulse duration.%@ 1674-1056

对790nm激光二极管泵浦Nd-La共掺和Nd-Sc共掺CaF_2无序晶体激光器的特性进行了研究,比较了掺杂不同浓度La^(3+)和Sc^(3+)的Nd∶CaF_2晶体的吸收光谱和输出激光特性.在5 W泵浦功率下,将0.5at.%Nd^(3+)与5at.%La^(3+)∶CaF_2,0.5at.%Nd^(3+)与3at.%Sc^(3+)∶CaF_2掺杂,分别获得1.10W和0.64 W的连续激光输出,斜效率分别为23.0%和12.8%,阈值泵浦功率仅为10mW.实验结果表明,Nd-La共掺和Nd-Sc共掺的CaF_2晶体是一种可用于二极管泵浦且可获得高功率高效率激光输出的激光介质.

Generation of femtosecond laser pulses at 396 nm in K_3B_6O_(10)Cl crystal被引量:1

K3B6O10Cl (KBOC), a new nonlinear optical crystal, shows potential advantages for the generation of deep ultraviolet (UV) light compared with other borate crystals. In this paper we study for the first time the second harmonic generation (SHG) of a femtosecond Ti:sapphire amplifier with this crystal. Laser power is obtained to be as high as 220 mW at the central wavelength of 396 nm with a 1-mm-long crystal, and the maximum SHG conversion efficiency reaches 39.3%. The typical pulse duration is 83 fs, The results show that second harmonic (SH) conversion efficiency has the room to be further improved and that the new nonlinear crystal is very suited to generate the high efficiency deep ultraviolet laser radiation below 266 nm.

Diode-pumped self-starting mode-locked femtosecond Yb:YCa_4O(BO_3)_3 laser被引量:1

A self-starting mode-locked femtosecond laser is accomplished with an oxoborate self-frequency doubling crystal Yb:YCa4O(BO3)3 (Yb:YCOB) as the gain medium and a semiconductor mirror as the saturable absorber. Pumped by a 976-nm fiber-coupled diode laser with 50-ktm core diameter, stable mode-locked laser pulses up to 430 mW were obtained at a repetition rate of 83.61 MHz under 5-W pump power. The autocorrelation measurement shows that the pulse duration is as short as 150 fs by assuming the sech2 pulse shape at a central wavelength of 1048 nm. This work has demonstrated a compact and reliable femtosecond laser source for prospective low-cost applications.

Tunable femtosecond laser in the visible range with an intracavity frequency-doubled optical parametric oscillator

We demonstrated experimentally a synchronously pumped intracavity frequency-doubled femtosecond optical para- metric oscillator (OPO) using a periodically-poled lithium niobate (PPLN) as the nonlinear material in combination with a lithium triborate (LBO) as the doubling crystal. A Kerr-lens-mode-locked (KLM) Ti:sapphire oscillator at the wavelength of 790 nm was used as the pump source, which was capable of generating pulses with a duration as short as 117 fs. A tunable femtosecond laser covering the 624-672 nm range was realized by conveniently adjusting the OPO cavity length. A maximum average output power of 260 mW in the visible range was obtained at the pump power of 2.2 W, with a typical pulse duration of 205 fs assuming a sech2 pulse profile.
