Exploring electromagnetic response of tellurium dielectric resonator metamaterial at the infrared wavelengths

We numerically investigate the electromagnetic properties of tellurium dielectric resonator metamaterial at the infrared wavelengths. The transmission spectra, effective permittivity and permeability of the periodic tellurium metamaterial structure are investigated in detail. The linewidth of the structure in the direction of magnetic field W x has effects on the position and strength of the electric resonance and magnetic resonance modes. With appropriately optimizing the geometric dimensions of the designed structure, the proposed tellurium metamaterial structure can provide electric resonance mode and high order magnetic resonance mode in the same frequency band. This would be helpful to analyze and design low-loss negative refraction index metamaterials at the infrared wavelengths.

High enhancement factor of Au nano triangular prism structure for surface enhanced coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering

Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering spectroscopy(CARS) is a well-known detecting tool in biosensing and nonlinear spectroscopy. It can provide a non-invasive alternative without the need for exogenous labels,while the enhancement factor for surface plasmon resonances(SPR) are extensively used to increase the local field close to the oscillators and which can obtain high enhancement. In this work, we investigate the enhancement factor of our structure for surface-enhanced coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering. The absorption spectrum of the structure has been studied, a wide range of absorption has been realized. The enhancement can be as high as 10^(16) over standard CARS. Our design is very useful for improving the enhancement factor of surface-enhanced coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering.

Effective absorption enhancement in small molecule organic solar cells using trapezoid gratings被引量:1

We demonstrate that the optical absorption is enhanced in small molecule organic solar cells by using a trapezoid grating structure. The enhanced absorption is mainly attributed to both waveguide modes and surface plasmon modes,which is simulated by using finite-difference time-domain method. The simulated results show that the surface plasmon along the semitransparent metallic Ag anode is excited by introducing the periodical trapezoid gratings, which induce the increase of high intensity field in the donor layer. Meanwhile, the waveguide modes result in a high intensity field in acceptor layer. The increase of field improves the absorption of organic solar cells significantly, which is demonstrated by simulating the electrical properties. The simulated results also show that the short-circuit current is increased by 31%in an optimized device, which is supported by the experimental measurement. Experimental result shows that the power conversion efficiency of the grating sample is increased by 7.7%.

Growth mechanism and optical properties of InGaAs/GaAsSb Su-perlattice structures

In this paper,we report the growth of Ga As Sb and its crystalline property under various Sb2/As2 flux ratios and growth temperatures.We simulated the incorporation difference between Sb2 and As2 by using a non-equilibrium thermodynamic model.Our study of Ga As Sb growth has successfully yielded,high quality In Ga As/Ga As Sb Type II superlattice for which the optical properties were characterized by photoluminescence at different excitation power and temperature.A blue-shift in luminescence peak energy with excitation power was observed and was described by a non-equilibrium carrier density model.We measured and analyzed the dependences of peak energy and integrated intensity on temperature.Two thermal processes were observed from intensity dependent photoluminescence measurements.
