Modified method of surface plasmons in metal superlattices

We present a modified method to solve the surface plasmons(SPs) of semi-infinite metal/dielectric superlattices and predicted new SP modes in physics. We find that four dispersion-equation sets and all possible SP modes are determined by them. Our analysis and numerical calculations indicate that besides the SP mode obtained in the original theory, the other two SP modes are predicted, which have either a positive group velocity or a negative group velocity. We also point out the possible defect in the previous theoretical method in accordance to the linear algebra principle.

High sum-frequency generation in dielectric/antiferromagnet/Ag sandwich structures被引量:1

We present a method to increase the sum-frequency(SF) outputs in dielectric/antiferromagnet(AF)/Ag sandwich structures for a fixed input power. Two incident waves simultaneously illuminate the upper surface, one is oblique and the other is normal to it. Numerical calculations based on the SiO2/MnF2/Ag and ZnF2/MnF2/Ag structures show that the SF outputs on the upper film increase a few times as compared to those of a single AF film when the thickness of the AF film is one-quarter of the vacuum wavelength. Moreover, the SF outputs generated near the higher resonant frequency will be higher than those obtained near the lower resonant frequency. An optimum AF film thickness is achieved through investigating its effect on the SF outputs in the two different dielectric sandwich structures.

本文利用传递矩阵方法研究了电磁波倾斜入射时,一维反铁磁/电介质准周期光子晶体的透射性质.反铁磁层和电介质层按Fibonacci数列排列构成准周期光子晶体.通过数值模拟发现光子禁带中有透射峰出现,而且随着准周期光子晶体级数的增加透射峰的数目也在增加.此外,透射峰受电介质层的介电常数、入射角度和电磁波偏振影响明显.

Coupled edge plasmon modes of metal/dielectric multi-wedges

We present a metallic/dielectric multi-wedge model to investigate the coupled edge plasmon modes(CEPMs),where all wedges have a common edge and the wave propagates along the edge direction.A general theoretical method valid to many practical structures is presented.The analytical dispersion relations of CEPMs in these structures are obtained and the CEPM properties are discussed with numerical results and the dispersion relations.For all structures mentioned in this paper,we find that the structures containing an even number of metallic wedges have four CEPMs and those with an odd-number of metallic wedges have two CEPMs.Further,the periodic structures containing any odd number of periods and any even number of periods possess their common CEPMs,respectively.

一维反铁磁光子晶体光学双稳态效应研究被引量:1

基于传递矩阵方法和光局域化原理,本文研究了一维反铁磁光子晶体共振频率附近光学双稳态效应随电磁波入射角、外磁场强度及电介质层数的变化.研究发现,当外磁场为1.0 kG(1 G=10^(-4)T)、电磁波小角度入射时,反铁磁材料高低共振频率附近均可探测到光学双稳态效应;当电磁波大角度入射时,仅在高共振频率附近探测到光学双稳态效应.然而,当外磁场强度增加到2.0 kG时,由于反铁磁材料的高低共振频率向两侧移动,低共振频率附近缺失的光学双稳态频率窗口又被有效激发.此外,电磁波小角度入射时,电介质层数在低共振频率附近对双稳态效应影响较明显.

Voigt位型下电介质/反铁磁/电介质结构二次谐波生成非倒易性研究

利用非线性传递矩阵方法研究了Voigt位型下电介质/反铁磁/电介质结构二次谐波生成的非倒易性.研究发现外加静磁场反向和电介质层排序翻转均对二次谐波输出产生影响,出现了二次谐波生成的非倒易性.二次谐波生成非倒易性频率区域在反铁磁共振区,此区间正处于THz频段.随着入射角度的增加,非倒易性的效果越来越明显.研究二次谐波生成的非倒易性,可为反铁磁器件的设计加工提供理论支持.
